Ever wanted to create a pdf document out of your word document, but didn’t know how? Download CutePDF Writer and you get a virtual printer that pops up in every program with a print function. Really handy when you need to publish documents and don’t want to use the .doc format.

I’ve tried various PDF writers. Looks like CutePDF Writer is based on GhostScript which is pretty good. But when things don’t work for some reason, I use PDFMoto, another PDF writer. Unfortunately, it sticks a “Created by PDFMoto” at the top of each page if you don’t buy it, but the good thing is it has its own PDF engine i.e. doesn’t rely on GhostScript – so when one doesn’t work, I use the other.
