The day after tomorrow

Just saw the movie. Good fun, but nothing surprising really. The plot is so predictable, you know what’s going to happen after seeing the first five minutes. Alright 20. After a little while the main character goes on a quest. And you KNOW he will make it.

Luckily, I hadn’t read much about it before I saw it. And I knew who directed it. That pretty much adjusted my expectations. After seeing Independence Day and Godzilla I pretty much knew what I was in for.

Great effects, a bit scary scenario, and you start thinking what you would do in a situation like that. I sure as hell know that beeing a software developer wouldn’t count for much. 😉 Maybe my winter army-training would finally come in handy.

A few cheesy classic american movie moments. Father and son reunited. Everybody is touched. All their faces are zoomed in on to show how much they are touched. Maybe I’m too critical of those scenes, but I couldn’t help laughing.

Not much more to say really. Good fun and good effetcs. Maybe climate change will get some renewed attention.

I tried doing a little google search to check how real the scenario was. Didn’t dig too deep, or find that much, but it seems in the worst case it might be realistic. But the change would occur over a couple of decades not in 6-7 days.
