Dazed & Confused

I was trying to explain to a friend today what I don’t like about the way .NET works. It’s hard, because at the bottom line they are not all that different. I’m making an effort these days to read stuff from the pro .NET side to understand it better.

Malcom Davis has a piece on the differences in Java and .NET mindset. He’s making a good point, but I still see a lot of developers both in the Java and .NET camp not concerned with exploring new tools. I can understand it. You have to be a real geek to devote your time to it. And I can see why they feel comfortable with having one tool, and just using it.

JavaZone is coming up. It is the JUG Norway conference with names like Gilb, Crupi, Hellesøy, Öberg and Stallman speaking. The agenda looks great, as always I won’t be able to attend everything I want.
